Twenty-five years ago, the Ccoillar family switched from growing potatoes to growing coffee, tired of drought, bad harvests and bank loans that could never be repaid. Florentino Ccoillar’s eldest son decided to leave his childhood home in the Andes and ended up finding a piece of mountainous jungle for sale in the Rio Negro neighborhood. He planted his first coffee plants and named the emerging farm Nueva Florida. Gradually, the rest of the family followed him.

Now, 15 years later, the family grows coffee together and, with joint effort, has managed to produce truly fine organic coffee.

Processing: Depending on the climate and temperature, but mainly the coffee is fermented for 18 to 22 hours in open cement tanks. Then the coffee is washed with clean water.
